The first lost tooth.

So about a weeks ago, Joey comes to us and tells us that one of his teeth are loose.  Us, having no standard of comparison, just kind of accept that he’s losing his baby teeth.  So we call the dentist to see if there is anything we need to do, at which point the dentist informs us that most children lose their teeth at around six or seven.

Holy Crap!  I mean don’t get me wrong, I think every parent likes to hear news that their kid is ahead of the curve, but wow, just wow.

Two days later it finally happened.  We’re a little concerned because nobody can seem to locate the tooth.  He lost it in the middle of the day at day care, and though everyone was immediately aware that he lost a tooth, no one could find it.  So, just a heads up, my kids tooth is out there somewhere in wild.  The hard part was trying to figure out how to go about getting him some toothfairy money without an actual tooth.  So my lovely, and smart, wife said that if he put a drawing of his lost tooth under his pillow, that the tooth fairy would accept that just as well.  That’s some on your feet thinking right there.  Too bad Joey has no idea of what money is used for and therefore couldn’t be bothered.

Yeah, Mira was four also when she lost that first tooth (but then, they came in freakishly early, I think four months)!
